Getting through the New Year

And Becoming the "IT" girl.

I listened to the "To my Sisters" Podcast on Spotify. Courtney and Renee host it. Episode 1 of 2022 is called "New Year, New Me: Discipline, Habit Formation, and Becoming the 'It' Girl." Ladies and Gentlemen, I love this podcast so far! I recently started listening, and I love that I can genuinely relate to these two women.

I have struggled with getting into the routine (Dictated by social media). I have allowed TikTok to dictate how my morning should look, and that's not ok. The content creators ( of TikTok) wake up, journal, make their beds, make a cup of coffee, get in the shower, go workout, then get to work. Too often, I have fantasized about a productive life. It's hard to sustain that level of commitment for me. I want to be that morning person and hard worker that shows up for herself. I want to get to that place this year and keep that momentum for the rest of my life. It's a definite lifestyle change.

Make A Routine

Last week, I made a daily routine list, and the next day, I did not want to get out of bed. It's as if my balance is off, and the cold hard truth looks at me with despair. Reality destroys the desire to have the perfect morning or the perfect life. (Wake up call: there is no such thing as perfection.)

Hold Yourself Accountable

To achieve this mountain requires hard-earned sweat. In other words, I need discipline (Discipline=Training). That goal or destination won't just appear in front of my nose. I have to prove (To Myself) that I can hold myself accountable and trust and believe in myself. My track record is horrific. Honestly, I have a lot of growing to do. But today's post will not discourage you or me. Instead, I am stating that it's time for a change.

The business world makes money on women like me, especially this new year. Planet Fitness starts a day early by sponsoring the New Year's Eve event hosted in New York City. (Yeah) Losing weight is pushed down our throats, and we give in. I desire a healthier lifestyle. I would love to wear a smaller dress size. But, I will achieve this in my time. I won't allow social media to control me (it's easy). This marathon is my journey. I am taking charge, and it will take time and hard work to achieve those goals and desires. I am the "It" girl (in the making). Being the "it' girl is me at my best. I am figuring out the details, such as what I look like or act like at top form. I'm the main character, and I will romanticize my life.

Hey, don't forget to check out that podcast. And in the comment section below, let me know your strategies and disciplines for a better lifestyle.
